Hi jiaxu,

Do be patient with SBS Transit as it is a long term investment for me with many changes going on in the public transport sector. It is not a short term bet. For more details, please refer to my comment on the stock at:

thanks.i just read it. there no guarantee the new bus fare review panel will up bus fare against social political demand

MOT just announced recently they gg to invite a few other private bus operators to run the roads --> more competition.

in fact, I am predicting a day very soon that sbs may be nationalized..which is a very risky event for shareholder

Hi jiaxu,

Thanks for your thoughts.

Well, let's just wait for them to come out with the decision. Even with no fare increase, the model of operation might change going forward. What it means is that operators might only operate the assets and LTA owns the assets. That would mean lower depreciation charges for SBS Transit going forward.

Private bus operators do not have the scale to complete with SBS Transit. Even SMRT bus operation is not doing well. So, I am not so concerned about private operators at this moment.

Nationalization of bus services. There is a risk but I think the govt already articulated their views clearly that it won't happen. They are not in favour of it. Even with nationalization, the govt of the day will have to buy out SBS Transit shareholders. They will have to pay to fair price to buy us out.
