My Investment Portfolio (Oct 2007)

Another volatile month for my portfolio. Not much changes in my top holdings. I have been buying some stocks via the rights issue strategy and also some undervalued tech counters. Other than that, not much purchases done directly from the market this month. Dubai Drydocks strikes again! This time round they come out with an offer for Labroy Marine (one of my top 30 holdings this month). Having surrendered Pan United Marine to them last time round, I really hate to sell another marine stock to them. But with SembCorp Marine and Labroy Marine both reporting forex losses this month, I wonder why bad news all came out at the same time? Having said that, I will continue to hold SembCorp Marine as I don't anticipate the forex losses to have a significant impact on the long term outlook of the company. As for Labroy Marine, I have to see whether Dubai Drydocks can get 90% acceptance before deciding. As I have said in my one of my post at http://www.sgfunds.com, though Dubai might get Labroy cheap, they won't get it easily (at least from me).
