My Investment Portfolio (March 2019)
STI ended the first quarter of the year at 3212 points, almost identical as last month. Fear of recession had been the topic of the month as most stocks are trading sideways and directionless. However, yield stocks like REITs outperformed this month as investors believed that US Fed interest rate hike cycle had stopped.
For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefing - Datapulse Technology, Transcorp, Mermaid Maritime and Qian Hu.
For my top 30 holdings, Hong Fok had been a top performer after they have released their FY18 full year result last month. Buybacks from the company and also purchases from the controlling shareholders had contributed to its good performance. Other stocks in the list that did well include ComfortDelgro, A-REIT and CapitaLand. Best World had been a main laggard this month due to investor concerns on their business model in China.
I have bought the following companies from the market this month - AF Global, Bonvests, Bund Center, EnGro, Far East Orchard, GK Goh, Global Testing, Heeton, Hiap Hoe, Hotel Royal, Isetan, Koh Brothers, Sembcorp Industries, UIC, UOB Kay Hian, Yeo Hiap Seng and YHI. I have also closed my position in Luzhou Bio-Chem.
I have participated in the following preferential offer/rights issue this month - Keppel Infrastructure Trust. I have also participated in the following scrip dividend schemes - CapitaLand Retail China Trust and Far East Hospitality Trust.
Next month will be the busy April AGM season, with companies having financial year ending 31 December 2018 holding their AGMs. As usual, I will be attending some of these meetings to get some updates from those selected companies.

Not sure Y Kepple is raising money?
Hi Sunny,
I don't think they are raising money. Any link to the announcement?
Hi, Shifu Chua
I refer to the notes that Kepple issued. Understand Kepple marine increase stuff No for the 1st time after so many years. Not sure any update of Kepple T & T as well
https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/companies-markets/keppel-corp-to-raise-s500m-via-two-note-issues
DBS gives Buy call on Sembcorp, what is your take on that call?
Thanks
Hi Sunny,
Thanks for the link. Likely that they are trying to position for recovery in the O&G industry ahead.
You should have received your Keppel T&T scheme proceeds already. Do check your bank account.
As for Sembcorp Industries, yes, it is currently undervalued at the moment. But a lot will depend on whether O&G sector can recover and also whether they can unlock value in their utilities division going forward. Dividend payout is still very low at this moment, which explains why the share had been underperforming for the past two years.

Yah, I checked and received the proceeds of Kep T & T
Thanks for sharing your take on Sembcorp
