My Investment Portfolio (March 2011)
The month of March was best remembered when earthquake strikes Japan. My heart goes to those affected and hope that Japan can recover from this natural disaster quickly. Markets as expected was volatile but STI demonstrated strong resistance to close around 3100 points at the end of the month, having fallen below 3000 points when earthquake rocks the market.
For my top 30 stock holdings, there is not much changes, except for two new entries - Challenger and APB. Both stocks did well this month.
Sticking to my investment plan despite market volatility, I have bought the following companies from the open market this month - BBR Holdings, Casa Holdings, China International, CSC Holdings, Forland Fabrictech, Hotel Grand Central, Hotel Royal, Mapletree Industrial Trust, Ocean Sky, Sakae Holdings, Soon Lian, Singapore Reinsurance, Singapura Finance, Superior Multi-Packaging and Tiong Seng.
I have accepted the following takeover/delisting offers - Financial One, MAP Tech, Reyoung, Sinomen and Timewatch.
I have also converted the following warrants to shares - OKP Holdings and participated in the following rights issues - Asia Water, Global Investments and Willas-Array.
Next month, I will be subscribing to Cambridge rights issue. Also, I will continue to seek for value in the market and invest prudently using those proceeds from takeover/delisting offers.

suggestion:
i_oh_sissy_bee (iOCCB brokerage) now got $10 cashback rebate if u trade via their android platform..
if dun have android hp, can borrow somebody's hp, login, make a trade, enjoy many rebates.
for shifu so many purchases, say 20stocks a month, --> 20stocks x $10 each = $200 cash back?
Hi newbie_george,
Thanks for your suggestion. But the problem is that iOCBC minimum brokerage is $25. So, with this $10 cashback, effectively their minimum brokerage is $15. Only $3 lower than my DBS Vickers cash upfront brokerage account of $18 minimum.
Do take note that some of my trades are done using POEMS unit share platform, which incurs a minimum brokerage of $10.
Though there is some savings involved, it is not significant for me to consider at this moment.
Hey ghchua,
I am wondering how much weighting your #1 holding is to your entire portfolio in terms of market value...in percentage perhaps.
Understand it is #1 because it has appreciated over time.
Thanks.
Hi cif5000,
Just a rough estimate, since market value changes everyday.
My #1 holding currently has around 2.4% weightage with respect to my whole portfolio.
sooo many AGM AGM AGM now... next 2weeks almost everyday AGM, i think shifu u take 1stretch long leave, everyday go AGM makan... :P
