My Investment Portfolio (August 2015)
STI ended the month below 3000 points to close at 2921. More bad news in the market as China's shock move to devalue the yuan and worries about its slower economic growth, recent terror attack in Thailand, mass protests in Malaysia, Fed rate hike decision and also devaluation in regional currencies. The sell-down in the markets had been global, and it has been another bad month for investors. On a personal note, this month had been the most difficult market for me since I become a full-time investor 4 years ago.
For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - Petra Food, Noble Group(Investor Day) and Del Monte.
For my top 30 holdings, almost all the stocks had lost some value and Sarine Technologies being one of the hardest hit. Having said that, most of the stocks outside the top 30 list also suffered losses and therefore there had not been a new entry to replace them.
I have bought the following companies from the market this month - Amara, CapitaLand, Far East Orchard, GLP, Hong Fok, Hong Kong Land, Hong Leong Finance, Jardine C&C, Jardine Strategic, Kencana Agri, Keppel Corp, LHT, Memtech, Samudera Shipping, SembCorp Industries, Shangri-La Asia, ST Engineering, Stamford Land, Tiong Seng and UIC. No sales trade was done.
I have participated in the following scrip dividend schemes - First REIT and Frasers Commercial Trust.
Since this is a down market, I will try to spread my investments across various stocks slowly and carefully from my dividend cash flow. This will be the same strategy for next month as volatility increases and there will be more opportunities to buy quality stocks at a good price.

Hi Chua,
First of all, thanks for sharing your trading/investing activity. I believe I have spoken to you before on the lowest brokage rate in Singapore.
Being not selfish to share your strategy openly, I see you as a person who is willing to share, and hence you have garnered my respect. I thought I would like to share my investing experiences with you, if you would like my 2 cents worth of thought, in private. I do consider myself as relatively successful in investment and have already semi retired at the age of 38. I am 48 now, just completed a MBA (2014/2015) with my research project in managing equity investment went on the Dean's list. Anyway, by meeting up, we might be able to learn something from each other. If you are keen, we can meet up; if not, I would like to wish you all the very best in your investment.
Finally, may I ask you not to publish this "comment" on your blog. I do not wish to attract unnecessary comment. Hope you can understand
Thank You
C
Hi Chua,
Do you have an acct in TradeHero? http://en.tradehero.mobi/
Hi David,
Not really. I don't really use mobile apps as my handphone is not a smart phone.
