My Investment Portfolio (September 2015)

STI ended the month with 4.7% loss to close at 2790 points. The usual concerns had been there in the market, plus China showing signs of sharper slowdown. The S'pore election results had not improved market confidence and the uncertain Fed decision on when to hike interest rate doesn't help matters.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - CapitaMall Trust, CM Pacific, SGX and Lian Beng.

For my top 30 holdings, Sarine Technologies had recovered well after big losses in previous months. Another key performer had been Koyo International. Some of the value stocks in the list like Bonvests, Hotel Royal, Hiap Hoe etc had held up pretty well during the month despite market selldown.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - City Developments, Fischer Tech, GLP, Haw Par, Hong Kong Land, Jardine C&C, Jardine Strategic, Sing Investment & Finance, ST Engineering, UIC, UOL, VibroPower and YHI. No sales trade was done.

I have also participated in the following scrip dividend schemes - DBS, OCBC, Rickmers and Saizen REIT.

I have accepted the following voluntary delisting/cash offers this month - Lizhong Wheel and Chosen Holdings.

Next month will be a lower dividend paying month and therefore I will be careful not to make big purchases in order to preserve my cash flow. I will also be attending AGMs held for companies with financial year ending 30 June 2015 to get some updates from them.

Hi GH Chua,

Could you advise on the reason why you have totally eliminated noble group from your top 30 stocks please? Thanks.

Faith

Hi Faith,

I didn't eliminate Noble Group from my top 30 holdings. It is just that its market value had dropped a lot and therefore currently not in my top 30 holdings list. I am still holding onto the stock and remain positive on its long term prospects.
